An American Tradition

From colonial times to the present, concert bands have been an integral part of America's communities. The Valley Winds  Community Concert Band continues that tradition in the Temecula Valley.

We are a true community band, with approximately 65 volunteer members from all over southwest Riverside and north San Diego counties. We have members
from 15 to well over 80 years old from all walks of life.

The Valley Winds performs a wide variety of music for different occasions:

Concert Band

The Valley Winds Concert Band is a 60-piece ensemble made up of volunteer musicians from all walks of life. Members range from teenagers to 80-somethings, and include educators, engineers, writers, scientists, and a few professional musicians.
The Concert Band performs a wide variety of music for different occasions, including marches, show tunes, patriotic and seasonal favorites, and modern band classics. Each season includes a few formal concerts, several holiday performances, and community events including the annual Memorial Day observance at the Lake Elsinore Cemetery.
The Valley Winds Concert Band is a program of Mt. San Jacinto College Community Education. The band rehearses during the regular school year on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. in the Band Room at Temecula Valley High School.

Swing Band

The Valley Winds Swing Band is an 18-piece big band in the tradition of the 1930s, 40s, and 50s. The band was founded in 2000 by Bob Coakes as a way to keep this very special music alive.

The band performs for community events and private parties throughout the region.

How to Book the Band...

The Valley Winds Concert Band and Swing Band are available to perform at events throughout Southern California. Because most of our volunteer members work or attend school, weekends and evening events work best.
